When I started exploring the healing properties of crystals, I discovered the multitude of books, articles and websites that's available today on the use, characteristics and properties of crystals varied quite considerably - some concentrated more on the metaphysical and esoteric aspects while others focussed on the more conventional and scientific aspects.
I also found that they detailed so many purposes, attributes and virtues to each individual stone that at the time I was inclined to think and believe that any crystal could cure any dis-ease or imbalance whether on a physical, mental, emotional or spiritual level. Talk about confused!
Bust the Myth
Since then I have spent many many hours studying, reading, comparing and using these amazing energy tools and have come to the conclusion that in many cases of duplicated healing properties of crystals; either...

- or the physical composition
...of the stone suggests its appropriateness for a specific dis-ease or purpose.
Because I am passionate about teaching and energy healing, just love using crystals which I call the "Rock People of the Mineral Kingdom" and have developed an amazing relationship with them, I am honored to share my knowledge and experience with you.
No Rules!
There are no exact rules for Crystal healing and the healing properties of crystals is not an exact science either.
No... I am not trying to make light of things or ridicule others, I say this to you because, yes, there are definite guidelines that have been proven to work, which I would like to pass on to you but your intuition plays a big role at the end of the day.
You will find that as you learn to heal with crystals your intuition, your love, your connectedness to the energies will guide you to make the right choices in every situation.
And as you grow, and continue on your journey to enlightenment so the choices will become easier.
The Guide Lines
My experience has shown me there are some outstanding guidelines that will help you select the correct healing gemstones to use for certain physical issues and common ailments such as:
- aches and pains,
- addictions,
- bladder trouble,
- boils, colds,
- digestion,
- fatigue,
- headaches
Other than the above I have gathered much more information about which stone to use for which ailment over the years which you can rely on to help with healing.
Dealing with lots of people over time I also came to realize that many problems are not only on a physical level but that assistance is often needed for both spiritual and emotional issues.
Crystal healing is ideally suited to these types of conditions as emotions and spirituality are very important parts of who you are and in order to live fully and effectively you need to be able to heal any emotional as well as spiritual issues that might stifle your personal growth, well-being and transformation.

Healing Properties of Crystals - AMBER - Also known as "Gentle Stone". This crystals healing properties is very soothing and calming to the nerves. It can uplift a negative disposition and encourage you to take life less seriously. It promotes fidelity in relationships. As a self-healing stone, amber guides the emotions into a clearer mental outlook and to take greater responsibility for one's choices in life. It is also excellent for soothing emotions during post-operative care. Amber is an organic gem. It is fossilized resin from prehistoric pine trees and is mostly from the Baltic Coast although we have young amber coming from Madagascar. In ancient times a form of crystal healing was practiced by grounding or soaking amber and consuming it for illness. Amber is sacred for Native Americans and Eastern Indians. In Mediaeval day's amber was burnt to clear the environment of negativity. To test if amber is authentic place amber in a glass of coke, if it floats it is authentic; if it sinks it is synthetic.

Amethyst clears and purifies assisting with stress and tension, it soothes and calms the mind, raises the spirit and protects from negative vibrations. Amethyst provides protection and balance during transition periods. It reduces the feeling of being victimized, giving you a spiritual perspective on life's circumstances. Amethyst is a powerful healing gem with diverse healing properties. It promotes intuitive and inspired thought. The lavender-pink color amethyst relates to the Heart chakra, to open and lighten up a betrayed heart and to heal the sense of loss of life and innocence. The blue-red color amethyst promotes a deep spiritual connection between one's self and one's life challenges, supporting the challenge one has taken on, giving patience and calmness despite overwhelming odds. The Chevron Amethyst (banded white and purple) helps peel off old karmic patterns to promote self-love and the ability to get along with others especially with one's Soul Mate or family members.

Healing Properties of Crystals - APACHE TEARS (transparent Obsidian) -The "Grief Stone". Apache Tears allow for tears to be shed, stimulating emotional spontaneity and the release of barriers that prevent you from experiencing deep sorrow. This stone is excellent for transmuting one's own negativity under stressful situations. Apart from its healing properties, Apache Tears can be excellent talismans of protection from all sorts of negative forces. The Apache Tear is a dark black stone of obsidian and when held up to the light appears transparent. However, it has been noted that the grief one feels goes into the stone and can turn it opaque.

Healing Properties of Crystals - APOPHYLLITE - Enhances universal love. Apophyllite has been used to facilitate astral travel. It helps one release feelings of insecurity and other emotions that are hard to handle and helps us recognize behaviors / attitudes that need to be corrected. The green variety links us to the nature spirits. A stone attuned to the angelic kingdom. Other than the healing properties already mentioned, this crystal is also known as the "REIKI CRYSTAL" as it enhances the Reiki treatment.

Healing Properties of Crystals - BOJI STONE (limonite) - Apart from the healing properties of this stone, it is also an excellent energy source. Limonite has an electro - magnetic energy field and combines qualities of initiative and independence. It is a very good grounding stone and aligns and balances subtle bodies and chakras. The Boji stone transfers energies from the etheric to the physical body. The Boji Stone is excellent to use during a crystal healing session as it cleans, charges and fills voids within aura. Calcite is also used for astral travelling and channelling. It brings energy that clears and activates all chakras. Calcite is excellent for the studies of arts / sciences. It assists with the kidneys, pancreas and spleen and balances calcium levels.
