Keeping Your Crystal Pure & Divine

Clearing is necessary before using any stone for healing. The clearer the energy of a healing stone, the more powerful it is. Crystals and healing gemstones need to be purified as soon as they are bought as well as clearing after every healing. A cleared, ready crystal feels positive and bright, tingly and cold to the touch. A crystal that needs clearing may feel hot, heavy or exhausted. There are a number of ways to efficiently clear crystals and gemstones.

Sea salt is the most traditional purifying agent in psychic work and healing. It dispels any sort of dis-ease and negativity, and is a physical and psychic sterilizer. I feel it is the most accepted and probably the most powerful method of clearing crystals and stones. I highly endorse it for the initial cleansing of a new healing stone and for any time a stone is strained with negative energy. Salt can be mixed with water or used dry.

Cleansing the crystals can be done by soaking it in rock salt water, again, leave overnight. Sometimes a stone may take longer to clear, particularly if it has been used in a deep, intense healing. If this is the case, leave additional day or two in the sea salt. Be sure to use sea salt only as this is a powerful tool for driving away the negative energy, table salt contains aluminum and other chemicals. After the wash, the crystal has to be kept in sunlight for few hours only as the color of your stone may fade, if possible to further energize it also keep the crystal under the full moon light. Simply place your crystal outside, from the Full to the New Moon. Burning of Incense preferably sandalwood, however rising petals, sage, frankincense, myrrh, can be used too and the spiritual music is a must before we proceed further. During this time, the mind needs to be tuned for the purpose, and this process should be done with dedication and purity. A quick way to cleanse your healing crystals is to smudge them with burning cedar or sage. Smudging is an excellent way to make sure your crystals are purified. Simply hold the burning sage or cedar stick while passing your crystal through the smoke. I as a rule do this a couple of times to ensure cleansing. I also like to purify my stones by smudging after every remedial.

However instead of sunlight, we can energize the crystal by using Reiki and with recitation of mantra invoking the goddess to bless the crystal for the purpose one decides. Close your eyes, relax and meditate beginning from your root chakra and the energy flowing towards the crown chakra thus passing rays of powerful light energy into your crystals.

During the energy being transmitted a twitching feeling can be felt in your palms, and gradually this begins to flow in the entire body. You will feel the Divine Light, who is white surrounding you in circles. The dedication done during this time is immensely powerful. After the dedication, the programming will be done in the similar manner for the purpose, and then placing the crystals on a cluster of quartz is ideal. This keeps the crystals free from negative energy.

Eventually, if you are in a rush and feel that your crystal requires to be cleared, you can freely run them under cool tap water. Make sure the points are facing down the drain to run the negative energy right down the sink!!! NEVER USE WARM OR HOT WATER, THIS WILL FRACTURE OR BREAK YOUR CRYSTALS. Imagine the crystal as glittery, tingly, chilled, and union in the direction of the healer.
