Reiki Centering - I am the Light!

This is a wonderful centering exercise to work with to go within when working on your own healing sessions. Allow the energy patterns to flow freely and do not get stuck in one area but rather enjoy the process and allow this to unfold for you!
“I am the Light” is a centering technique contributed by Libby Barnett based on the “I am the Light” invocation by Connie Newton to help you focus and go within when doing Reiki, but can be used anytime you feel the need to become more centered. I use it before doing either a Reiki healing session, a Reiki attunement or a Crystal healing session. The invocation is always said aloud, three times. Note the hand and body movements with each line. When you are finished stand quietly with your eyes closed and feel the peace, love and light. This is a great centering technique for all ages and works especially well for children. They absolutely love the movements and really get into it with gusto.
1. Say “I am the Light” out loud and cross your hands over your heart.
2. Say “the light is within me” and put one hand on top of the
other just below the navel.
3. Say “the light move throughout me” and spread your arms and legs wide.
4. Say “the light surrounds me” and make a spiral with your right hand down your body.
5. Say “ the light protects me” start with your hands in the prayer position, reach up and around, forming a heart.
6. Finish by saying “I am the Light” and cross your hands over your heart.
